An interdisciplinary approach towards international student mobility

This EuMIGS lecture focusses on the main international student mobility (ISM) trends as well as the empirical literature on the determinants of ISM. The trends and empirical findings are connected to the theoretical literature on social inequalities, migration regimes and the internationalization of higher education. Through such an approach, the complexity of studying international student mobility is highlighted, illustrating the heterogeneous dynamics that underpin the phenomenon.

Dr. Christof Van Mol is a well-known expert on ISM. He is Assistant Professor at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Sociology.
